Sebene Selassie
Sebene Selassie (1970- ) is Executive Director of New York Insight Meditation Center. She was born in Ethiopia. When she first came to America she lived at Washington DC and later moved to New York City. She has worked in the non-profit sector for over 20 years. She began studying and practicing the Dhamma in 1988 and is a graduate of the 4th Community Dharma Leaders Program and a certified Integral Coach. Sebene leads the Generation Meditation Sangha at New York Insight.
Shas worked in youth development and youth media, communication for development, public television, international emergency and relief work. She currently lives in Brooklyn, NY with her husband and dog but is reportedly interested in seeking eternal sunshine in Los Angeles.
