E-Sangha

E-Sangha was the largest English language forum on Buddhism from 2004 to 2009. It contained several forums and sub-forums on a wide variety of subjects on Buddhism.

Timeline

• 2003 Created by Leo Teyes
• 2007 Over 50,000 members
• 2008 Over one million posts
• 2009 (October) the site gets hacked and is down. The site owner and administrators were working to get the site back online, but were not successful. At the end there were a little over 58,000 members and about 1.2 million posts.
• 2010 (Feb.) The site is still not back online and there is no news of its impending return, perhaps implying that it is gone completely.
