Upāyikā 9.001
The narrative introduction is Sāvatthī.
“Monks, bodily form past and future is not-self. What to say of presently arisen bodily form? Monks, a learned noble disciple who contemplates in this way, will be equanimous with regard to past bodily form, will not take delight in future bodily form, will be disenchanted with presently arisen bodily form, and will become free from desire.
“Monks, feeling, perception, formations and consciousness, past and future, are not-self. What to say of present feeling, perception, formations and consciousness? Monks, a learned noble disciple who contemplates in this way, will be equanimous with regard to past bodily form, will not take delight in future bodily form, will be disenchanted with presently arisen bodily form, and will become free from desire.” Thus it was said.
